Sens-A-Source The Sens-A-Source uses an integrated two-speed blower and heat sensor (standard on halogen light models only, not available on fluorescent models). It allows you to turn the blower to half-speed for even quieter operation. The heat sensor automatically increases (at 150 degrees F )blower speed for fire safety and grease liquefaction .

  1. All Vent-A-Hood halogen light models are shipped standard with Sens-A-Source two-speed motor(s) (SS/1).
  2. The heat sensor will change the two-speed blower motor from low speed to high speed if too much heat, steam, smoke, or a fire occurs.
  3. The heat sensor will not turn the blower on if the blower switch is in the off position; only if the two-speed motor is turned to low speed.
  4. Once the heat sensor cools down, the blower will return to low speed.
  5. If the blower automatically increases to high speed, it may be turned off manually.

Emerald VI

This 6" tall ultimate replacement hood features the new low profile K Series Magic Lung Blower (patent pending). 

  • The hood includes Sens-A-Source,halogen lighting, and top vent/back vent capability.
  • Standard widths are 24", 30", 36", and 42" wide.
  • This hood is only available in Black, Biscuit, White, or Stainless Steel finishes.

Equivalent CFM*:  A typical hood with a 600 CFM Magic Lung blower is capable of handling professional style cooking equipment with 900 CFM requirements (as specified by the range manufacturer.)  The Magic Lung blower performs better because it uses centrifugal filtration instead of mesh or baffle filtration.  Vent-A-Hood products carry a limited warranty.
